Amended return received march 1st, 2022… does this mean I won’t get my refund until July? : r/IRS
Amended returns get forwarded to different departments depending on what it was amended for, so it’s a bit like ending up at the checkout register lane that’s fast or slow. I mailed mine on 2/11. IRS claims to have received it 2/22. Just today out of nowhere my transcripts show: 971 Amended tax return or claim forwarded for processing 2-22-2022

My amended tax return was received by the IRS on January 24, 2022. My amended return was processed on October 17, 2022. I got the check in the mail the other day.
